The minister for information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has asked City Authorities to pull down billboard mounted to encourage Ghanaians wear face mask in the ongoing fight against covid-19.
The reason being, the image of the president not wearing face mask was used for the billboard.
And this went contrary to the advertisement words on the board “Wear a mask wherever you go. It will help protect you from the virus”.
Although the Information Ministry appreciates the effort, it then advised that should there be any need for such an awareness creation, advertisers should consult government first.
He further said the billboard was not from government after concerned citizens probed.
The president has been noted for not putting on face mask in his public appearances until his last speech on May Day.
