Ideas Farms has organised a hiking event dubbed “Adventure” for enthusiastic young people with interest in agribusiness.
The event sought to provide and show the youth opportunities in agriculture.
The management of the farm believed that in order to draw youth to agriculture, it needs to be made attractive hence the hosting of the event.
There were over 50 participants who were either workers, students or fresh graduates.
The event started with a hiking from Hebron Junction off the Accra Nsawam road through the township of Ayi-Bonte to the steep hills of Samsam.
Participants were excited despite the long routes they used to the farm.
According to the Founder and General Manager of Ideas Farms, Mr. Mohammed Iddrisu, ”
The goal is to create a platform to expose young people to agriculture aside the agribusiness conferences and seminars held in the cities for them”
Ideas Farms presently operates on 21 acres of land with over 300,000 suckers of pineapple cultivated by about 105 young people.
The goal of the farm is to increase its capacity to supply bigger companies and enter other countries with its produce.
