The CEO of GDA Media, Oheneyere Gifty Anti, also the President and founder of the ‘Girl in Need Foundation’ and the ‘Awo Dansoa Reading Project’ has lauded The Nima Excellence Awards.
The multiple award-winning broadcast journalist made her observation when the NEA team paid her visit and awareness drive to introduce the yet to be launch 3rd Edition of Community development magazine #NEAmagazine.
She said “The award will inspire a lot of young people in the Zongo community, I believe the environment you find yourself shapes you. Most of the Zongo youth grow up with a loss of hope because of negative tagging of the community and they see people from afar and admire them but they think are too far from them. So awarding people within these communities will bring the lost hope back”.
The motivational speaker also took the opportunity to introduce her reading project to the team and wish to visit the community and share books to encourage reading in shaping the minds. She however challenges the Zongo citizens to dare shine light on the community and make it a priority in shaping the minds positively. No politicians or political groups will help you shine your community.
A copy of the third edition of the NEA magazine signed by the National Chief Imam was presented to her and she felt honored and appreciated for the gesture and urged that people and the community sustain the initiative.
The CEO of the Awards, Ibrahim Alhassan, explained the vision behind the visit to the multiple award-winning broadcast journalist Oheneyere Gifty Anti.
The visit was to introduce the awards scheme and magazine to her base on her contribution to the women and girl child project in Ghana. She has inspired many and caused change in Africa.
Nura Mohammed, an admirer of Oheneyere, presented the magazine in admiration with full of hope.
