Speaker of parliament, Hon. Mike Oquaye, has suspended parliamentary sitting over MPs absenteeism. He has pledged not to tolerate the lawmakers truancies anymore as he angrily suspended the sitting.
This followed after a concern was raised by member of parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga.
He invoked article 102 of the constitution over the attitude of his colleagues on absenteeism.
Hon Moses Anim, who is a deputy whip tried to explain the reason for the absenteeism but proved futile.
Prof. Mike Oquaye was later coerced to suspend the House.
He has cautioned MPs severally with regards to absenting themselves from the house.
