Three additional regions to be faced with strict lockdown

Director of Communications at the Presidency, Euegen Arhin has hinted that the President will address the country today, Sunday, April 19, 2020, adding that time for the address will be communicated later.

The President is expected to update the country on the latest measures put in place by the government to ensure that the deadly Coronavirus is contained. The President will also give the country update on the early 21 days of the partial lockdown of Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi, and Tema.The latest address will put to rest speculations of either addition of other new regions or areas in the lockdown as it also turns to be epicenters, a total lockdown or an extension of the lockdown in some parts of the country amidst complaints from some businesses that they are suffering and require some reprieve.

Mrs Sarah Akufo who happens to be a seasoned health economist on Kumasi-based Hello FM as monitored by TheBBCghana.Com has hinted that, government directive on whether the president addresses will include additional region or areas as it seems epicenters now,  possible total lockdown or extension.

According to the renowned health economist, the president will call on experts before he will make an extension or declare a total lockdown as reports indicate.

Mrs Akufo further stated on live radio that, the president is likely to include three new regions in the lockdown directives.

Ghana’s current case count stands at 834 with 9 deaths been recorded.

Northern Region, Eastern Region, Upper West Region, and Oti Region makes the list as it is likely to be affected by the lockdown directives according to Mrs Akufo as gathered by
