As controversial as it may sound, Football Writer, Sheikh Tophic Sienu has jumped on the two major political parties in Ghana for the woes of their national teams over the years.
The football pundit who shed tears on LIVE TV on Friday following the defeat of Ghana’s U23 side to South Africa through penalties in the U23 AFCON, blamed the two parties for playing politics with the national teams polarising the Ghanaian populace.
To him, both political parties have polarised the Ghanaian space and have politicised everything including football, denying the national teams of the unity and togetherness they need to win games.
The passionate writer who wrote in 2015 that the two political parties score political points with the achievements national team, hence forcing the opposition to fight against the success of the national teams to capitalize on and blame the ruling party.
He believes that until the two most powerful political parties detach their politics from the national teams, Ghana may not win any trophy anytime soon.
