Emirates Airlines has finally broke silence on why 2019 Di Asa winner, PM, could not go aboard to Dubai.
A statement from the management has it that, for safety reasons, the organisers should have reserved extra seat for Precious Mensah because of her plus size.
According to the airline, each passenger must be safely and comfortably seated with their belts fastened. It is an industry practice that when one is a plus size, he or she must purchase extra seats should some be available.
The release read “We respect our customers’ privacy and cannot discuss specific customer details or cases,”
Precious Mensah was to travel to UAE with other two runner-ups but she was rejected due to her size.
The organisers of Di Asa said PM could not fit into two seats. When they attempted reserving another, they were told no seats were available.
By Friday 22, hopefully, they will resolve things.

Accra – 20th November, 2019: An Emirates spokesperson – “We respect our customers’ privacy and cannot discuss specific customer details or cases. Emirates places the highest standards on in-flight safety and as part of this, it is a requirement that all passengers are safely and comfortably seated with their seatbelt fastened. An industry practise for passengers who cannot be accommodated in a single seat due to their size is for them to purchase an extra seat for their own safety and comfort, should a seat be available.”
